Dr. Smith earned his dental degree from UCLA in 1999, graduating with the highest honors as a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. After spending a few years working with other dentists in the Central Valley, he acquired the practice of Dr. Garth Schmidt, who retired in 2001. Since then, Dr. Smith has continued upgrading his skills and ensuring his team receives top-tier dental training. And as advancements in sedation dentistry emerge, Dr. Smith has consistently maintained his office as a leader in this specialized area. His passion for sedation dentistry is also deeply personal, as his father, an anesthesiologist, shares his enthusiasm for the subject, and they often discuss it. Dr. Smith takes pride in offering the Fresno community the safest and highest-quality sedation dentistry. 

Dr. Smith and his wife proudly call Fresno home, where they raise their three sons. They are active participants in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church community. Dr. Smith enjoys playing tennis and engaging in various sports in his free time.

Sedation Coordinator

Melissa, who shares the same apprehension about dental visits as many sedation patients, is compassionate in discussing dental fears and providing support. Dental Assistants

The dental assistant team, comprised of Amy, Sandra, Michelle, Maribel, and Isabelle, is committed to maximizing patient comfort. Each member is skilled in providing excellent care, ensuring every visit is as soothing and stress-free as possible.

Extended Functions Assistant

Joanie Biggerstaff is an extended functions assistant, like a nurse practitioner in the dental field. With over 800 hours (about 1 month) of specialized training, she supports Dr. Smith in various procedures, focusing on dentures and fillings. Her caring approach helps ease the nerves of patients who may be feeling anxious.

Anesthesiologist

Dr. Donald Milne, an MD anesthesiologist with over 25 years of experience, provides expert anesthesia care. Trained in Canada and with a fellowship from Stanford, Dr. Milne ensures a safe and smooth patient experience. His use of propofol, known for its quick recovery time and minimal side effects such as grogginess and nausea, ensures patients remain entirely comfortable throughout their procedures.
